July 2024 - The First Summer
At last, it has arrived. Summer has finally bestowed blue skies, sunshine and warmth upon us here at Overtown and the plants are looking grateful for it.

Pick, Cook & Eat is a hands-on charity on a mission to help children and young adults with special educational needs and learning disabilities to grow, cook, and thrive. Lucille manages the PC&E garden on behalf of Nancy Lawson, owner of Overtown Manor and creator of the charity. Lucille's regular blogs keep you up to date with what is going on in the garden, the trials and tribulations of growing veg and how working with the land pays us back tenfold.
April 2025 - On Your Marks, Get Set, GO!
It is a most unusual day. I write from the table at the bottom of my garden, cup of tea at my side, Pip at my feet. We have spent the last three months waiting, waiting, waiting for spring to arrive, for the sun to shine, for the earth to warm. I’ve been dreaming about all the seeds I’ll sow this year, the new varieties we’ll try and all of the cut flowers there will be to bring into the manor. At times it’s felt as if Spring would never come. Just waiting, waiting, waiting.
